Muddobbers National Enduro Format

The Muddobbers National Enduro on October 1st, 2023 in Matthews, IN will have a slightly different format than we traditionally have at the National Enduros. This is simply something that we would like to try and after the survey we put out, riders also voted to give it a shot.

It will still be a restart enduro as we typically have with A/Pro riders riding 6 sections, B Classes and A 55+ riding 5 sections, and C classes, Womens AM, Enduro Futures, and 60/65+ classes riding 4 sections.

The difference will be that A/Pro/Womens Elite riders will start on one half of the course, while B/C/Womens Am/Enduro Futures/60+/65+/A 55+/Sportsman classes will start on the other half of the course. Section 1, 2, and 3 for the B and C classes will be sections 4, 5, and 6 for the A classes. Sections 1 and 2 for the A classes will be sections 4 and 5 for the B and C classes. There will be two separate route sheets depending on what group you are part of with the Gas Available being back at staging after 3 tests for either group.

The idea is that riders will have a more equal quality of trail. First half of the day they will have a trail with less deterioration, with the second half of the day they will have trail with more deterioration. There will also be less slower riders for faster riders to pass as they will be on separate portions of the course, while slower riders will have less faster riders passing them. We will also be able to have the entire field of riders finish the race sooner in the day. We will be able to have a total of 70 rows and still have 600 riders registered to race versus 120+ rows.

Registration will work like this. To help with confusion between the two different class groups, A/AA riders will have a separate registration day then the B/C/60+/65+/ Womens Am/ Enduro Futures/ A 55+/Sportsman will have. There will be 350 B/C/60+/65+/ Womens Am/ Enduro Futures/A 55+/Sportsman spots available throughout rows 1-70. There will be 250 spots available for A/AA riders throughout rows 1-50.

‘A’ riders that do not follow the series and do not wish to receive series points for either National or District level that want to be able to ride with a B or C rider can register for the Sportsman class that will race the shorter course with the B and C riders. Sportsman will need to register the day that B/C/60+/65+/ Womens Am/ Enduro Futures/A 55+/ Sportsman registration opens. The Sportsman class will still receive event awards.

NE Pro1, NE Pro2, and Womens Elite will remain on the same starting rows as they do now. We will not be adding them in a 6th or 7th on a row, all rows will still have 5 per row. YEAR END AWARDS CEREMONY

The final event of the season will be held at the Gobbler Getter National Enduro in Stanton, AL. We plan on having the year end awards ceremony there on Saturday Evening. This will include a food service as well as a trophy presentation.

All riders that will be receiving an award will receive it on Saturday evening. Riders that have their place secured in their class will have their placing on their award. Those riders that have not yet secured their position in their class will receive an award without a placing on it. A placing tag will then be mailed to you after the final points are tallied.

The Youth Challenge classes will be finalized at this point since the last Youth Challenge race will take place that afternoon. All of the Youth Challenge Class Trophies will be handed out at the Saturday Night Awards Ceremony as well with placing on them.

We are giving this a try this year after tallying the survey results. The Saturday Night awards dinner will be a way for us to congratulate the year end award winners still without requiring riders to stay late after racing Sunday to receive the awards. The survey results showed that most riders would like to head home directly after racing Sunday and this will allow racers to leave directly after finishing the enduro Sunday to start making their drive home just as they would do at all other rounds throughout the season.
